Module 1 – Evaluating the OSC Against CMMC Level 2 Requirements

Module 2 – CMMC Level 2 Assessment Scoping

Review the 4 phases of the CMMC Assessment Process and the accompanying steps, to plan and prepare, conduct, report, and close out a CMMC Assessment.

Task 1 - Analyze the CMMC Assessment Scope of CUI Assets as they pertain to a CMMC assessment using the five categories of CUI assets as defined in the CMMC Level 2 Assessment Scoping Guide.
Assets in the assessment scope, that include CUI, security protection, Contractor Risk Managed, and Specialized sets that process, store, or transmit CUI. Review out-of-scope assets that cannot process, store, or transmit CUI.
Task 2 - Analyze the CMMC Assessment Scope based on the predetermined CUI categories within the CMMC Level 2 Assessment Scoping Guide. Review, analyze and determine assessment scope based on the 5 CUI asset categories and evaluate logical and physical separation techniques utilized in various environments.
Task 3 Evaluate CMMC assessment scope considerations based on the CMMC Level 2 Assessment Scoping Guide.
Evaluate CMMC assessment scope for FCI/CUI assets, implementation of Level 1 and 2 practices, and considerations around engaging with External Service Providers (ESP).

Module 3 – CMMC Assessment Process (CAP)

Review the 4 phases of the CMMC Assessment Process and the accompanying steps, to plan and prepare, conduct, report, and close out a CMMC Assessment.

Task 1 - Given a scenario, apply the appropriate phases and steps to plan, prepare, conduct, and report on a CMMC Level 2 Assessment.
Based on a real-life scenario work through each Phase of the CMMC Assessment Process taking a fictitious organization through the assessment phases, analyze requirements, verify assessment readiness, collect, and examine evidence, scoring practices, report assessment results, create, evaluate, and close Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) items.

Module 4 – Assessing CMMC Level 2 Practices

In this module, we discuss the requirements of each Level 2 practice and review the three assessment evaluation methods of Examine, Interview, Test to determine the adequacy and sufficiency of assessment evidence.

Task 1 - Identify evidence verification/validation methods and objects for Practices based on the CMMC Level 2 Assessment Guide and CAP documentation.
Evaluate CMMC Level 2 practices based on the three assessment methods of Examine, Interview, Test. Identify objects for determining evidence. Explore characteristics of acceptable evidence, discuss the concepts of evidence adequacy and sufficiency, and explore evidence of persistent and habitual application of the Level 2 practices.
